Theatre
1996
Adriana Róze is currently starring as Jessica Gatewood in the West Coast Premiere of the musical Splendora at the Celebration Theatre in West Hollywood. She has continued to pursue acting and has performed at several regional theatres including the Goodspeed Opera House and Manhattan Theatre Club. She is the lead singer/songwriter of electronic rock duo the Endless with her husband David. They have released three albums and currently live and record in their home studio in Los Angeles.
1985
Denise Maffitt has been doing regional theatre and living in New York since she left New Mexico in 1992. She recently did Princess Puffer in The Mystery of Edwin Drood and Lilianne LeFleur in Nine, at Seaside Music Theatre located in Daytona Beach, Florida. Denise will be going back down to Daytona this Fall to be in White Christmas. She is a member of AEA, SAG, and the Rockland County Choral Society, www.RocklandChoral.org. In her spare time she is also a video editor at Total Training, Inc., www.TotalTraining.com. Denise lives in Rockland County with her husband, Brian and various pets.
Dance
1995
Adrienne Clancy is the Artistic Director and the Founder of ClancyWorks Dance Company. She has earned a reputation of working with conservatory students and dance enthusiasts alike. She has been choreographing professionally for the past fifteen years and her work has been presented nationally and internationally in Israel, Japan, Poland, Mexico, and Paraguay. Prior to directing the ClancyWorks Dance Company, Ms. Clancy worked as company member for the following choreographers: Bella Lewitzky, Liz Lerman, Nora Reynolds-Daniel, and as a Guest Artist for Bill Evans, Maida Withers, and Victoria Marks. Ms. Clancy has been on the faculty of Goucher College, George Washington University, Towson University, University of Maryland Baltimore County, and is currently on the faculty at George Mason University (VA). In addition to ClancyWorks and teaching dance, Adrienne serves on the Executive Committee of Alternate ROOTS and is currently pursuing a PhD in Dance from Texas Woman’s University. She earned her M.A. in Dance from the University of New Mexico with an emphasis in Dance History & Criticism and continues to write, most recently penning the foreword for Reminiscences of a Dancing Man, a book written by Bill Evans and published by the National Dance Association in 2006.

1991
Dana Tai Soon Burgess is the founder, artistic director and choreographer of Dana Tai Soon Burgess and Company and for fifteen years he has created dances that synthesize Eastern and Western aesthetics. He originally trained with Tim Wengerd and Judith Bennahum. He earned his MFA from George Washington University where he is currently a professor of dance. His company has performed at national venues such as the Kennedy Center, Lincoln Center, and La Mama as well as touring Peru, Ecuador and Latvia. Dana’s repertoire has been performed in over ten countries and his company has received numerous major commissions from such organizations as the National Endowment for the Arts and the Smithsonian Institute. When the company performed for its 10th anniversary gala, the Washington Post said, “Each dance is as spare, intimate, and perfect as a pearl. ”Of his experience at UNM, Burgess says, “I learned the skills I needed to begin my journey as a professional dancer, choreographer and professor at the UNM Dance Program.
The skilled teachers were so supportive and understood exactly what I needed to learn in order to follow my dream of being successful in the field of dance. There isn't a day that goes by that I do not utilize information that I learned at the UNM Dance Program. My experiences at Carlise Gymnasium changed my life.”
Design for Performance
1995
Kelly J. Benson earned his BA in Theatre with an emphasis in Lighting and Sound Design. He is currently working as a lighting technician at Cirque du Soleil's "O" Theater at the Bellagio as well as building theatrical flying effects at Fisher Technical Services Inc. during the day.
Other credits include: Showroom Technical Manager at The Greek Isles Hotel and Casino, Las Vegas, NV; Music & Sound Effects, Licensed Pyrotechnician, Stage and Lighting Technician for Siegfried and Roy Theater at the Mirage, Las Vegas, NV. (See photo and yes, Kelly is the one between Siegfried and Roy and was there the night “it” happened!)
