Since late 2006, UNM faculty, students and staff have worked to create a campus sustainability policy. 

In 2008, a committee was formed to identify ways to achieve carbon neutrality.  Examples of

other campus plans for carbon neutrality include: Middlebury, Berkeley, Oberlin, Colorado, Brown, and Yale.

Some campuses have made efforts to green-up conferences.

 

For reference, the USGBC's strategic plan has expanded its efforts to include social equity in LEED. Innovative curricula on other campuses provide education about carbon management.
