Placing a Work Order for Housekeeping & Maintenance
To place a work order for Housekeeping & Maintenance, log onto our on-line work order system and describe the problem in the work order form.
- Submit a separate work order for each problem.
- Fill out each field before submitting your work order.
- If you have any questions about submitting a work order, please contact Housing Services at 277-3402
- Desk attendants enter work orders for common living areas. Work orders are assigned to the appropriate personnel and completed as soon as possible.
If you have questions about the status of your work order(s), contact your front desk, the Maintenance Office at 277-3402, or the Housekeeping Office at 277-2816.
Guidelines
Please read through the following tips and guidelines for submitting a work order for Housekeeping & Maintenance. The more clearly you specify your request, the better we can help you.
- In the “Location” box use the pull down menus to indicate the location of the problem
- If you can’t find the right Location or Category in the list, select “Other”
- For the “Site” field, dorm residents should select “UNM Main”
- Next fill in the fields for Bldg, Suite-Floor, and Room/Location
- In the Room/Location field, select a location that best describes the site of your problem or use "Other"
- Enter your first and last name under Contact Name so we know who to talk to if we have any questions
- Enter your 7 digit (local) cell phone number OR your 5 digit room phone number in the Contact PHone field using digits only
- In the “Problem Category” fields choose a selection that best describes your problem. If you can’t find a category that fits, select “Other”
- Further explain the nature of the problem in the “Work Requested/Needed” field. Examples:
- Sink is leaking in the cabinet area below the sink.
- Sink is leaking around the faucets
- Toilet will not flush
- Toilet is plugged.

Both our housekeeping and maintenance departments complete non-routinely scheduled tasks based on work orders requested by the residents or staff.We schedule work orders based on a priority system that emphasizes safety and health. The items with the highest priority are those that could cause damage to people or property.
