Student Family Housing (SFH) consists of 200 apartments located in the 900 block of Buena Vista SE, just a three-minute drive south of main campus.
Built on a 12-acre site, four clusters of apartments have courtyards, a state-of-the-art playground and paved off-street parking.
The complex is close to the PIT basketball arena, University football stadium, Isotopes baseball stadium and other facilities on south campus. Family, senior and graduate apartments are also near the Heights Community Center, BMX bike facilities, schools, churches, and shopping.
- The entire complex is fenced and has a controlled-access gate.
- Each cluster has its own convenient coin-operated laundry facility.
- Several apartments are handicap accessible.
- Electricity, gas, water, and garbage are included in the rent.
- Heating in the cool season and air-conditioning in the summer months are individually controlled.
To be eligible for SFH, one spouse, senior, and/or graduate student must be enrolled in UNM, maintain a minimum of six (6) credit hours per semester, and be in pursuit of a degree. This enrollment status also applies to any student wishing to live with immediate family members, as long as family members are solely dependent on the student for support. Domestic partners may also apply if they submit certification from the UNM Dean of Students office andy they meet qualifying criteria.
For more information, email or call the SFH office at (505) 277-4265.
