Choose Your Meal Plan
Everyone Has to Eat!
Enjoy complete flexibility in what you eat and when you eat! Choose a plan, from block meals only to flexible Dining Dollars or a combination, based on your eating habits, schedule, and residence hall status.

Block Meals

If you're living on campus, you'll probably want a block meal plan for value and convenience. These plans offer all-you-care-to-eat breakfast, lunch, and dinner in La Posada, the residential restaurant on campus. "La Po," as we call it, always offers alternatives for vegetarians and dieters; you can select healthy options at many of the other on-campus eateries, too.
  • Select a set number of meals per semester based on the number of meals you expect to eat
  • Meals are not refundable
  • Meals do not carry over between semesters
  • Meal plans are for residents only
  • Each time you use your LoboCard at La Po, one meal will be subtracted from your plan balance
  • Meal plans are required for all freshmen under 21
  • Meal plans are required for all residents of traditional halls
  • Plans include 5 guest meals per semester
  • You can change your plan in person during the 3rd week of your housing contract at the Housing Reservations Office (2nd floor of La Po)

Treat Yourself and Friends with Points!

Combine your meal plan with points (sometimes called Dining Dollars) to purchase snacks, drinks, coffee, and meals at La Po, at the Student Union Food Court or at other delis, coffee bars, and convenience stores around campus. Dining Dollars are great for that cup of joe while studying or to grab a bite after that early morning class.
  • Use your Dining Dollars at any time
  • Dining Dollars can be used for yourself and friends
  • Dining Dollars transfer from Fall to Spring, but not to the next academic year.
  • Dining Dollars are not refundable.
  • When you use your LoboCard, the cost of each Dining Dollar purchase will be deducted from your balance.
  • If you run out of Dining Dollars, you can add money to your LoboCard by making a deposit to your LOBOCA$H account.

Meal Plan Rules for Fall 2007/Spring 2008
  • Group A Meal Plans (1-4) are available to all residence hall students.
  • Group B Meal Plans (5, 6) are available only to students in an apartment or deluxe single.
  • Group C Meal Plan (7) is available only to upper class residents of Redondo Village or the Student Residence Center apartments.
  • A meal plan is required if you're living in Alvarado, Coronado, Santa Ana, Santa Clara, Laguna/De Vargas, or Hokona Halls.
  • Upper class students living in Redondo Village or the Student Residence Center may select any plan. Meal Plan 7 is most popular in order to purchase Dining Dollars to be conveniently spent at your discretion at most food service venues on campus.
  • Freshman under 21 on September 1st of the academic year must choose a meal plan, even those living in the SRC or RV A complexes.
  • If you select Plan 7, we recommend $600 in Dining Dollars.
  • Buena Vista (family and graduate student) residents are not eligible for a housing meal plan. Consider a Commuter Meal Plan offered through Aramark food service.
