Cancellations
Your residence hall contract is not like renting an apartment. It is a one academic-year contract on which you make monthly payments. If you move out early, you will still be responsible for making payments for the remainder of the contract.
Instructions to Petition for Spring Release
Please Review the Terms and Conditions of your contract and the cancellation rates below before making your decision. Visit the Housing Reservation Office on the 2nd floor of La Posada for a Contract Release and calculation of amounts due before making arrangements to move out.
Cancellation Rates
| Cancellation, received in writing, postmarked prior to June 1, 2008 | $25 |
| Cancellation, received in writing, postmarked prior to July 21, 2008 | $50 |
| Cancellation, received in writing, postmarked after July 21, 2008, but prior to the first day of the Fall ’08 contract | $200 |
| Cancellation, received in writing, once the contract begins and through the first official day of classes. Charge includes complete forfeit of $100 deposit, $200 cancellation fee, forfeit $20 CA Dues plus $30/day | $320+$30 daily fee |
| Cancellation, received in writing, after the first official day of classes (second week of contract). Charge includes complete forfeit of $100 deposit, $20 CA Dues and charges for each contract week of occupancy plus 40% of total remaining contract. No partial week charges will be made. (Percents are of total charges, not daily rates.) | $120 + weekly fee + 40% |
| No Show Fee. Failure to claim assigned room by the first official day of Fall classes will result in: "week one" occupancy fees at daily rate, $20 CA Dues, 100% foreiture of deposit, AND $200 Cancellation Fee. | $530 |
