Looking for a way to strengthen your connections with the community?
Each complex (Hokona, Santa Clara-Laguna/DeVargas, Student Residence Center, Santa Ana/Alvarado, Coronado, and Redondo Village) has its own independent Hall Community Association that's easy for you to join. Every Community Association meets weekly to discuss and address student concerns, fund hall projects, and better their living environment.
Hall Community Associations also have membership on the Housing Committee. This committee brings together students and housing administrators who set residence hall policies and address student needs and concerns.
Past Hall Community Association projects include:
- constructing the sandpit volleyball courts
- placing barbecue grills
- organizing the annual Res Hall ice skating & broom ball party
- candlelight dinners,
- annual Haunted House
- philanthropic projects
- purchasing hall equipment (such as games, TVs, and microwaves)
- organizing educational programs on current student concerns
- Information on each Community Association will be available at the beginning of the fall term, or you can contact the supervisor in your building for information on when and where the Community Association will meet. The Hall Community Association will also have leadership opportunities available.
Your Hall Community Association is one of the best ways to get involved in the UNM Residence Life community. Check it out!
