Housing Services Policies

Room Rates

Rates depend on the occupancy in each room.

During the summer all traditional halls are eligible for double and single room rates. Redondo Village Apartments (RVA) is available for single occupancy in four bedroom apartments. Compare our residence halls or visit each hall:

Call us or email for prices on single rooms, double room, and apartments. Hall requests will be considered.

Provisions

UNM will provide services as follows, unless other arrangements are made by your group.

Bedding Two sheets, pillowcase, pillow, mattress pad, and blanket on a made-up bed. The bed is an extra long twin.
Towels Two bath towels and one washcloth.
Bathrooms All traditional halls have community bathrooms with individual shower stalls and commodes. All apartments have semi-private bathrooms.
Other Articles Drinking container and soap.
Cleaning Services Towels will be exchanged at the linen room every third day for guests lodging three or more consecutive nights. A full linen exchange will be provided once per week for guests staying multiple weeks. Daily room service is not provided.
Desk Operations The desks are open from 7 am-12 pm in all halls and 24 hours in the Student Residence Center (SRC), unless otherwise posted.
Internet All rooms are hard-wired for high-speed internet and limited wireless service.
Air-conditioning All of our rooms are air-conditioned and individually regulated.

Damages and Loss Charges

The following prices reflect what will be charged in the event that damages or losses occur.

Window Screens $60 for each screen removed, tampered with or damaged in all buildings except SRC. SRC screens are $165
Keys $65 for any set of keys not returned at a traditional hall. $125 for any set of keys not returned at the SRC/RVA apartments.
Internet Connection $30
Linen $25 Blanket/$40 Comforter

$10 Mattress Pad

Replacement Meal Cards $10
  • All linens must be left in the rooms in which they were originally placed to avoid being charged for a loss.
  • Excessive stains can constitute a damage charge for linens. (Heavy make-up that was not rinsed out immediately and Gatorade are examples of items that cause such stains.)

Other Regulations


Youth Group Chaperones
Any conference youth group will be required to have a minimum of one chaperone (over 21 yrs. old) per 20 youths (under 18 yrs. old).

Curfew and Quiet Hours
For youth groups, residents will be expected to be in their halls by 10:30 pm and in their own rooms by 11 pm unless an earlier time is designated by the group chaperone(s).

Quiet hours are in effect from 10 pm to 7 am. 24 hour courtesy hours are always in effect.

Parking
Parking permits are always required to park on campus. The parking lots in the Residence Hall area, that are available to our guests, are "D," "R," and ā€œEā€ zones. The Student Residence Center (SRC) desk will sell daily and weekly parking permits to guests. To ensure that we have enough permits on hand for your group, please notify the Conference Office of your need for permits. You may also make arrangements for large batches of permits through UNM Parking Services at (505) 277-3720.

Prohibitions

UNM regulations prohibit the following.
  • Housing persons less than 12 years of age, unless supervised by an adult.
  • Possession of firearms, weapons of any kind, ammunition, fireworks, explosives, or highly flammable material.
  • Possession of alcoholic beverages or controlled substances, regardless of age.
  • Tampering with fire systems, fire-fighting equipment, or emergency call systems.
  • Blocking or unlocking of common areas or perimeter doors without the express approval of UNM Housing management.
  • Housing any kind of pet.
  • Misuse, abuse, theft, or destruction of UNM property.
  • Behavior that is dangerous to persons or property.
