Around & About

It's always fun to schedule a conference in a city - and state - that offer wonderful tourist experiences. We can help you build some events, activities, and locations into your conference planning, or you can simply encourage your participants to add on several days at the beginning or end of the conference to enjoy what we have to offer.

That may include anything from tours of museums on campus to a stroll along Route 66 - right in our neighborhood. Wherever they go, your attendees will experience the authentic American Southwest. UNM is located minutes from dozens of Albuquerque attractions: Old Town, cultural and natural history museums, and plenty of New Mexican dining and shopping.

Albuquerque enjoys 310 days of sunshine each year, making it the ideal location for your outdoor activities, including hiking, biking, white water rafting, and golfing at the UNM Championship Golf Course or UNM’s North Golf Course.

Located in the heart of New Mexico, Albuquerque is only a short drive away from such remarkable towns as Santa Fe (the nation’s oldest capital city), the artist colony of Taos, the Catwalk in Silver City, as well as space and science centers in Los Alamos and Alamogordo.
