This program provides an interdisciplinary foundation designed to prepare students for work in pertinent fields including secondary school teaching, translation work, and also for entrance to doctoral programs in German.

The German Summer School Program is a total-immersion 4 1/2 week program allowing students to gain near-native fluency or to advance an entire level. This program is open to students of all ages and academic backgrounds who have completed three semesters of college-level German or the equivalent. Courses range from the intermediate third-year level to advanced graduate seminars. However, more important than any specific academic background or linguistic expertise is wholehearted dedication to participate in the total immersion learning process.
