| Description: |
|
UNM's Department of English trains scholars, teachers, and writers who share a common fascination with the English language.
Our proper title, "Department of English Language and Literature," expresses the demographic and intellectual reality of our faculty and students. Recently we have bolstered our long established degrees in British and American literatures by developing strengths in Southwest, Chicana/o, Native American, and Postcolonial writing. We have also expanded our programs in Rhetoric, creative writing, and many forms of professional writing.
Our graduates go on to diverse careers and enrich their lives and work through advanced study into the arts, uses, and powers of language. |
