Description:
The Computational Science & Engineering Program (CSE) at the University of New Mexico (UNM) is an interdisciplinary certificate program aimed at promoting advanced research in the computational sciences, including applications, algorithms, and architectures. The CSE program is administered by the University of New Mexico's Center for High Performance Computing (HPC@UNM). Extensive computational resources are available to students in the CSE program through the center.
Students are exposed to:
  • state of the art numerical methods
  • high performance computing architectures
  • software development tools for parallel and vector computers
  • application of advanced hardware and software to the analysis of research problems in science and engineering
Students may earn their certificate while earning a Master's or Ph.D. degree (Graduate Certificate Program) or, if they already have a Ph.D. degree, they may earn a separate certificate (Post-Degree Certificate Program). HPC@UNM enjoys close ties to Sandia and Los Alamos National Laboratories and the Air Force Research Laboratory in Albuquerque. Students in the CSE program who are involved in collaborative research projects enjoy access to the wide variety of advanced computing systems housed at these laboratories.
